1080p streams start in background - screen black

Whenever I start a stream that is 1080p, it starts behind the skin (I can hear it) and stops after a few seconds. When I hit the back button to go to the video playback, the screen is black (I can still see the pause/play etc. bar). When I click play again, the video continues (I’m hearing the audio) but the screen stays black.
This happens with the OSMC default skin and the Conq skin for Jarvis. When I switch to Confluence it works normally.

Any idea what that could cause?

Info:
latest OSMC stable release on RPi2, 1080p set in OSMC settings
“Adjust Display Refresh Rate” and “Sync Playback to Display” as well as Audio Passthrough and Adjust PLL enabled

Edit: no issue with latest OpenELEC build on same Pi2 with same power supply and SD card! I want to switch to OSMC though!

Did you try with a OpenELEC Jarvis (Kodi 16) build?
