Hello!
Is it possible to Add a USB to Ethernet Adapter to OSMC?
According to this blog:

it should be possible to increase the network speed.
I read that the osmc kernel comes with drivers for wifi adapters.
Maybe there is nothing to do but to plug it in?!
I have a Pi 3 .
Any ideas how to get that working?
Thanks!
Is there a specific need for >100Mbps
100Mbps is more than enough bandwidth for all video formats that the Raspberry Pi supports.
Most USB network adapters will indeed just work. The only slight catch is our My OSMC utility will not handle eth1 correctly at the time.
Maybe @popcornmix knows a config.txt setting to disable the Internal adapter.

I figured out that MVC is working on OMSC and thought i’d might need
more than 100Mbps for that.
You won’t need more than 100Mbps for playback
Can anyone recommend a good but inexpensive USB to ethernet adapter? I’m thinking about using my RPi2 as a server to stream content from a 5TB USB HDD to two other KODI devices and want to maximize the speed to ensure that both devices can stream HD content simultaneously.
I’ve got a Vero 2 and that has a 100Mbps adapter, I use that as my NAS device (my DS216play is in retirement) due to its power efficiency and flexibility.
I have 20GB bluray rips and can confirm they work out to be some like 25 Mbps, so in theory I could have multiple streams running. If you’re needing to stream more than 100Mbps I’d consider a dedicated NAS
As it would use the same USB bandwidth as the build in Ethernet I doubt you would have any improvement of throughput.
There is significant improvement.
