Hi everyone,

first: thx for developing osmc :smile:

i would like to install some other libs… like the moonlight-embedded but the apt-get cmd is not enabled.

just getting:

OpenELEC (official) Version: 5.95.5
OpenELEC:~ # apt-get

There is no working ‘apt-get’.

‘apt-get’ is a command to install, update and remove software which
is stored in a non local repo. ‘apt-get’ does nothing then connecting to such
repo, downloads the software, unpacks the software, updates a big
local database with all filepaths and other informations about the
installed software or removes or updates installed Software.

With OpenELEC it is not possible to change the system for security and
stability reasons so even ‘apt-get’ would not be able to do this.
We also dont have and want to maintain such a repo for various other
great reasons.

Also Ubuntu or Debian packages are often outdated and not compatible
with OpenELEC

TIP: use XBMC’s addon browser to enhance your OpenELEC system

is it possible to enable it?

You’ll need to install OSMC before you can use apt-get. OpenELEC will not work.

Epic stuff, but please check out the download section here on OSMC

when you have downloaded and installed OSMC try the command again and it will probly work

thanks =) thats the result of trying to modify the rpi in the middle of the night :smiley: and to blind to see

Good luck please dont ask Openelec for support on OSMC then :stuck_out_tongue:
