ATV1 HDD install failing with "could not mount bootfs"

I’m trying to do the HDD install on my Apple TV 1. It keeps failing at the same spot. Unable to mount bootfs. I used the official installer on Win10x64 and all went well.

Try another USB drive.
If you still get the issue, the internal HDD is likely dead.
