As my wife came home today, she turned on the TV and saw a notice about an update on our Vero V. She decided to install the update, but now has major regrets, as the update seems to have affected the Wifi-network connection.
We use the PVR add-on to connect to TVHeadend to watch satellite TV. This has always worked satisfactorily. However, after installing the August (2025) update, there is a lot of buffering when I start a (live) PVR channel. Every few seconds, the playback pauses, shows the blue turning circles and then resumes again for a few seconds.
We’re also using Yatze on Android as a remote control for Kodi on the Vero V. This even showed Kodi to be offline at some point, while we were still watching the screen. Another clue that this might be network (wi-fi) related.
I’m also using a separate chromecast which has NO issues with our wifi, so I really think this is related to the Vero V update that was performed today.
Same boat R-PI, going through connmanctl and can’t figure it out
it looks like something is blocking udp out
i’ve turned off dns proxying in connman but to no avail
don’t know what is going on, but i disabled firewalls and killswitch on nordvpn and finally got it working
root@media:/home/osmc# ping -c 2 1.1.1.1 || true
PING 1.1.1.1 (1.1.1.1): 56 data bytes
ping: sendto: Operation not permitted
.....
root@media:/home/osmc# nordvpn set firewall off
Firewall is currently used by Kill Switch. Disable it first.
root@media:/home/osmc# nordvpn set killswitch off
Kill Switch is set to 'disabled' successfully.
root@media:/home/osmc# nordvpn set firewall off
Firewall is set to 'disabled' successfully.
root@media:/home/osmc# nordvpn set dns off
DNS is already set to disabled.
Well, this afternoon I managed to find some time for further investigation. However, after turning on the TV and starting one of my PVR channels (BBC2), everything seemed to be working fine again. Switching to other channels didn’t show yesterdays issues on those other channels anymore either.
So, for now, this issue seems resolved. The only thing that happened since reporting the issue, was the fact that the TV was fully switched off overnight. May sound far-fetched, but who knows… I’ve come across plenty of weird behaviour in IT systems
