Automatische Film Erkennung

First OSMC Forum is prefered to be english only so would appreciate if we do the conversation in english.
If you have issues with scarping most of the time video naming is the problem. If you have read (and followed) the howto for video naming on Kodi the next step is to enable debug logging and then upload (or check yourself) the logs for name issues.

Logging info as follows

To get a better understanding of the problem you are experiencing we need more information from you. The best way to get this information is for you to upload logs that demonstrate your problem. You can learn more about how to submit a useful support request here.

Depending on the used skin you have to set the settings-level to standard or higher, in summary:

  • enable debug logging at settings->system->logging

  • reboot the OSMC device

  • reproduce the issue

  • upload the log set either using the Log Uploader method within the My OSMC menu in the GUI or the ssh method invoking command grab-logs -A

  • publish the provided URL from the log set upload, here

Thanks for your understanding. We hope that we can help you get up and running again shortly.

You can also get filebot - to rename your movies. Does a very good job.
Alas, for some time now it costs … Not free anymore.

Hi, I have always managed to get along quite well by naming the movies exactly as they are listed on IMDb. If you are looking for a movie there, then the German title is above and below the English one. Of course, you can also get the movie titles from TMDb. There you can also set the language. You have to know yourself whether you prefer that the files are named after the original titles or after the German titles. In OSMC you can then set separately whether it should use the English or German titles for the library.

First, stick to Kodi naming conventions. Lose any genre, actor, franchise or whatever subfolder you might have in your Kodi movies folder. The folders for movies themselves have to be named exactly like the site which is set as your movie scraper lists it. This includes the name followed by a space and the release year (according to the site) in parentheses, e. g. Blade Runner (1982). Keep in mind TMDb probably displays the German name of a movie. You can change that in the navigation at the top of the site. Also pay attention to the language you told the scraper for which he should look.
The video file inside the folder should be named the same way as the folder, e. g. Blade Runner (1982).mkv. The Kodi wiki explains in detail how to handle Blu-ray and DVD folder structures.
