Blanking screen when displaying information "i"

Not sure if this is kodi or osmc, but thought I’d start here…

A little background 1st: RPI3/OSMC/HDD. Not too long ago I had to rebuild my system from scratch because of what appeared to be a possible HDD glitch. The rebuilt system is pretty much like the system that crashed (except the HDD seems much more stable :slight_smile:

The problem seems to be when I am playing/viewing a tv show, either recorded or downloaded (have not yet tested it on movies or music). When I am playing the video and I press the “i” for the information display, the screen goes blank (as in dark) if I press “i” again (or “Stop”) the screen returns to a regular display (like the video currently being watched).

This was never a problem in the previous incarnation of my system. And, if it matters, I have the system “blanking” set to Dim/20% at 40 mins.

Be nice if it was some setting I missed. Other than that, the system is back to performing as it did before.

To get a better understanding of the problem you are experiencing we need more information from you. The best way to get this information is for you to upload logs that demonstrate your problem. You can learn more about how to submit a useful support request here.

Depending on the used skin you have to set the settings-level to standard or higher, in summary:

  • enable debug logging at settings->system->logging

  • reboot the OSMC device

  • reproduce the issue

  • upload the log set either using the Log Uploader method within the My OSMC menu in the GUI or the ssh method invoking command grab-logs -A

  • publish the provided URL from the log set upload, here
