After the January update my Pi2 started making hissing and crackling sounds just sitting at a menu. I thought it was my Pi so I bought a Pi3, did a fresh install of OSMC and it was silent during the installation but as soon as it loaded the sounds returned. I’m using only HDMI output and it is connected passthrough to a Sharp soundbar. Any Ideas how to solve this issue?
Does turning off “keep audio device alive” in system/audio settings stop it?
nah, I’ve always had that off.
I can’t imagine how the pi would cause this over HDMI.
Can you remove the soundbar and play audio to TV? Doe you hear the noise?
