Buffering advanced option on advancedsettings.xml

Hello, I’m actually using OSMC on RaspberryPi. My library is on an external HDD attached to my pc and I share it via SMB. I’ve got a lot of buffering problem. My raspberypi is connected to an extender via ethernet. The extender is connected to principal router via wifi:

[HDD—>Computer—>Principal Router—>Extender router----> ethernet connection---->Raspberry Pi].

Assuming that I can’t move my HDD and attaching it directly to Raspberry Pi (because Osmc can’t open via SMB attached HDD to add new films and music)

I want to find out what’s the optimal buffering option in this particular case. I have ~10mb upload connection.

Thank you in advance.

While not related to your question, but I don’t understand what you mean with that sentence. With the Samba client and Samba Server OSMC can do with SMB what ever you need

It’s not related, I just wanted to said that I can’t move my HDD and attaching directly to Raspi2 so I have to use SMB sharing for my library.

In my topic, I need an help to configuring buffering option in advancedsettings.xml because I’ve got a lot of stuttering problem.

Sorry for the misunderstranding!

If I had your problem, I should first check my network. Like fzinken wrote, SMB should not give any problems.
Offcourse you can also play with the cache but most users will not require these modifications

Increasing the buffer size will not help you if your network connection is simply too slow. Perform some network speed testing with iperf and then compare that to the bitrate of the videos you are trying to play. If the network performance is much lower than the bitrate of the video no amount of buffering (other than buffering the entire file) is going to help you.
