Yesterday I finally received my Vero V. Was looking forward to install today and start watching movies in the best possible quality. However, after 6 hours of trying I have given up and decided to ask help in the community. No matter what I do, I just can’t get Dolby Vision to work.
I have both an LG G3 TV and Xgimi Titan Noir Max. I don’t get Dolby Vision to work on either device. Dolby Vision just isn’t triggered. It only outputs HDR10. Already tried a complete clean reinstall of the Vero V, but that didn’t fix it either.
I have looked at the wiki page of OSMC but I don’t see anything about specific settings I need to enable/disable in order to get Dolby Vision to work. I do know only Dolby Vision TV-LED is supported with the Vero V, and as far I know both of the devices should support that, but how can I get it to work? Can anyone please help me out?
to get a better understanding of the problem you are experiencing we need more information from you. The best way to get this information is for you to upload logs that demonstrate your problem. You can learn more about how to submit a useful support request here.
Depending on the used skin you have to set the settings-level to standard or higher, in summary:
enable debug logging at settings->system->logging
reboot the OSMC device twice(!)
reproduce the issue (start the DV clip/movie for a minute and stop it)
upload the log set (all configs and logs!) either using the Log Uploader method within the My OSMC menu in the GUI or the ssh method invoking command grab-logs -A
publish the provided URL from the log set upload, here
Thanks for your understanding. We hope that we can help you get up and running again shortly.
It clearly states “Dolby Vision (LL only)”. Checked it with both the LG G3 and the Xgimi Titan Noir. But how is that possible? I ready everywhere both system support tv-led Dolby Vision. Many users on AVSforums write they use Vero V in combination with Xgimi Titan Noir and have Dolby Vision working.
I just tested with the Vero V directly connected to the Xgimi Titan Noir. To my surprise that worked! However. If I connect the Vero V directly to the LG G3 it still doesn’t work.
If the C3 have DV-Std the G3 should have that as well I think? So confusing (for me)
Now it suddenly work on the G3 to when directly connected. When I tried it a few hours ago it didn’t work.
So now it works when directly connected to the Xgimi and when connected directly to the G3. In both cases System info says Dolby Vision (Std and LL). But as soon the AX341 joins the party it doesn’t work anymore. Guess I have to contact Feintech. Sorry for bothering you guys!
No problem. Have you tried all the dip-switch combinations on the FeinTech? A common problem with HDMI switches when you have two displays attached is the EDID becomes that of the less-capable device. But if both support DV-Std that shouldn’t matter. And the FeinTech info implies OUT2 is ignored anyway.
Yes I tried all kind of EDID combinations, but nothing works so far. Also tried to connect only the beamer, soundbar and vero v to the ax341, but no luck either.
I have send an email to Feintech, hope they will be able to help!
