Cannot play a single file

Hello,
I have recently bought a TPI 2 and installed OSMC on it. I have tried watching videos from files (mostly .avi) but I always have issues of different types. Here are two examples:

  1. the video starts but at after a few minutes and always at the same exact point, it stops. Here is the related part of the Kodi log file: cars - Pastebin.com

  2. the video starts but at after a few minutes and always at the same exact point, it freezer for a while and then a different video file is played although the video and audio playback are totally broken. Here is the relevant part of the Kodi log file: peterpan - Pastebin.com

on other files, playback is interrupted when I fast forward.

All in all my system is totally unusable.

Please also note that I have exactly the same issues if rather than OSMC I install raspbian+Kodi (which lets me think I should probably (re)post this message on the Kodi forum). Also, all of these files play flawlessly of any other player and system I could put my hands on (mplayer, vlc, totem etc.).

Has anyone experienced the same problems and/or has a solution?

Regards,
Alfredo

Please try another power supply.

Also upload full logs via My OSMC -> Logs.

ffmpeg doesn’t seem happy with the files:

If you post a sample file (e.g. cut down file to a minute or two) I could investigate further.

Almost certain I grepped for ERROR. Not sure how I missed that.

Hello,
my bad. I had kept those files on a USB key and watched them a hundred times without problems but for some obscure reason all the files on the key got corrupted. In case #2 two files got mixed together! I have never seen such a thing in 20+ years experience with computers. I have formatted the key, re-copied the (good) files on it and everything works like a charm.
Sorry for not having double-checked the files before posting and for spamming the forum. Should this post be tagged as “solved” ?

Regards,
Alfredo
