Can't (maybe) udpate security patch from 2017.04-1

I am on 2017.04-1, and a security update is available.

When I attempt to install the update in My OSMC, it locates the update. When I agree to exit OSMC to install it, it then spends a very, very long time on that text screen “checking for updates”, which seems unusual. I can see the CPU LED indicating a lot of activity, but I have no idea what it is doing. It’s about 10 minutes or so. Then it says it couldn’t install the package “(unknown package)”.

I wasn’t sure which log would be useful but my apt log is here: https://paste.osmc.tv/deyewetale

I notice that My OSMC says I’m now on 2017.04-2, even though I had that error.

Hi,

I’d run the update again, it should tell you if there any more packages to update.

If the issue persists, debugging logs, would help.

Thanks Tom.

It is possible that the error is caused by one of the extra packages you have installed which is beyond the default OSMC system.

Running sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get -y dist-upgrade on the command line should show and packages which are currently in error.
