Probably simple and obvious. Install OS on micro SD. Insert in pi and power up with Ethernet cable connected. Watch router to see when pi acquires an IP address. Connect to IP address from PC browser. Get screen titled Kodi with music, video, etc. options. Click on master user and get icon link that leads to nowhere. Content buttons bring up spinner.

Did you want to configure the Pi (as in the config.txt) or Kodi mediacenter?
The webpage is just a glorified remote control. Cant do any configuration there.
That explains it. The OSMC web site doesn’t have much on the subject. I’ll check out the config file.
config.txt is only to configure pi specific configurations. Just to avoid another confusion.
Kodi related configuration if you want to do it manually (recommended obviously via Kodi itself) are done in /home/osmc/.kodi/userdata
