Configuring component output

Hi there,

I’m a newbie to OSMC or any other linux based OS.

I’m trying to run OSMC on a ATV1. I can enter the device by the command line, but when I wan’t to change the file I get this:

Debian GNU/Linux comes with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY, to the extent
permitted by applicable law.
Updating APT cache. Please be patient.
Generating locales (this might take a while)…
nl_NL.UTF-8… done
Generation complete.
osmc@osmc:~$ /etc/X11/xorg.conf
-bash: /etc/X11/xorg.conf: Permission denied

Can anyone help?

Thanx

You need to use a text editor like nano. You also need to prefix that command with sudo as it is in a system directory.

thanx a lot. I’m in nano now and I’m trying to edit Xorg.conf.

Can I change 1080p for 1080i, because my tv doesn’t support this format?

Yes you can.

I see OSMC now on screen, but I get the unhappy face. What shall I do? I copied the logs to http://paste.osmc.io

It seems like you may have made a mistake in Xorg.conf. If you search the forum, you should find some advice.

Unfortunately we need the exact URL to retrieve the logs. For privacy reasons we cannot retrieve user logs without a full, complete URL

houd out ow to post the logs!
