Connecting to OSMC ftp remotely?

I’ve just set up my media centre with Kodi.

I installed the custom TVMC version of kodi to my windows pc. I decided to transfer all the appdata files with sftp through filezilla over to the RaspPi/osmc/kodi install and alas my RaspPi pretty much has the TVMC custom install running.

I ordered another device for my friend, its over at his house now. Is it possible to connect with filezilla and his IP address to copy the same files?

Should be possible if you open up a hole in his router

opened up ost ports on his router.
just wondering what sort of ip address id be typing in to get directly to the pi?

got his home ip address but obviously hes got pcs/playstations etc

(not very advanced with this stuff!)
