Crash and reboot for one channel only

Hi All,

I came across a quite annoying issue recently when watching TV with OSMC.

The issue you are currently experiencing with OSMC:

When switching to channel 62 (Travel Channel), Kodi crashes, “sad face” and reboots. No issue with other channels (or at least I have not come across any other problematic channels so far).

(From browser at http://192.168.100.2:9981 the channel is accessible with no issue.)

What you were doing when this issue occurred

Switching to this channel crashes Kodi.

See System Journal log entries at Feb 12 19:53:48 and Feb 12 19:58:51

Whether you can replicate this issue on demand. If you can, then please provide some steps on how an OSMC developer can reproduce the same issue.

The issue can be replicated by switching to this channel.

The device you are currently running OSMC on:

Raspberry Pi 3

What peripherals are attached to the device?

PCTV Systems DVB-T2 292e nanoStick HD TV Tuner

Has this issue been introduced by a new version of OSMC? When did the issue first appear and can you recall a time when it was not present?

Yes. This issue started recently after upgrading to Kodi 17. Before that I had no issue watching this channel.

Please let me know if you may need any further details or information from my end. Thank you for your support in advance!

Reading a bit more recently on how to submit meaningful debug log, I am attaching a bit more information in this respect: (Link removed)

Since posting the above one, I have reinstalled OSMC from scratch (though restoring the settings from a backup made just before that - I am not sure if the cause of the crash is restored as well…)

Appreciate any help you could provide!

If the issue is not confirmed to be present anymore, then I’m not sure why we would spend any further time here.

Secondly… We’re going to provide zero support for an installation tainted with some third party build designed with for the purpose of bypassing copyright … Good luck.

Sorry. I thought it is obvious that posting a new log on the same issue means that the issue still persists. (It is.) By saying “I am not sure if the cause of the crash is restored as well” I meant not being sure if the restoration brought back the error causing the crash or something else causing it. This latter was missing from my post above. My bad #1.

Are you referring to the fact that Sickrage and Couchpotato installed as well? If so, noted and apologies, while it is funny that the guides to install these two can be found in this forum. My bad #2.

I removed the link above and will post a new log which meets the forum rules. Apologies again and thank you for the support.

It would be interesting to know if you experience the crash with a recording from the channel, or only when you view it live.

Good point. I give it a try and let you know.

Also, what I forgot to mention but may definitely be interesting here is that from the Tvheadend webadmin page on my Windows PC I can watch the problematic channel by filtering to the channel at the Electronic Program Guide tab, clicking on the title, hitting Play Program which opens it in the default media player application (in my case, VLC).

Recording works with no issues, no crashes.
