I am running OSMC on a Raspberry Pi 2. I have a shared folder on my personal computer to store large amounts of video files. OSMC has access to this network folder. But playing files from the network folder is glitchy – the movies often freeze/crash during playback. Is there a way to set OSMC to temporarily download the currently playing movie to a hard-drive buffer (e.g., a USB key)? Are there any other common solutions to this problem?
I played loads through my network avi/iso/mp4/wmv and never was glitchy.
I would check the network (cables/switch/router), your network sounds overloaded/glitchy
Meanwhile I use the Pi2 as downloader/storage. I turn the pc off since a few months (didn’t happen in years :D)
