Files not being added to library 17.1

Hey everyone, I’m new to OSMC, love it for the most part except that I can’t seem to get any of my files stored on the SD card on my pi to load into the Library. I feel like I’m generally pretty capable of figuring these things out but this one has me stumped. I’ve just spent +5 hours trying to get it working with no luck.

Tried multiple file locations, setup a new OSMC profile, different file formats (.mp3, .mp4, .m4a) and nothing seems to work. I can play the files if I select them manually but they are unavailable in the library/party mode, etc.

I’ve searched all the forums I could find and don’t have a solution, I’m hoping you guys can help me figure it out.

Try disabling or removing the watchdog addon, reboot and try again.

I uninstalled all addons including watchdog (by deleting all the files in “~/.kodi/addons” folder.

I forgot to mention I have tried to get this working both using NOOBS and a base install and I’m having the exact same problems. Any chance it could be related to the SD card?

I added 4 more songs (mp3) and tried to add them, still nothing.

Well SD card always a possibility. But I guess it is more a scanner issue.

How is your folder structure?
How are your file names?
Are the MP3 tagged?
How do you add the source and which scanner have you choosen?
Is your internet connection working error free?

After spending +6 hours trying to get this working I’ve reverted to a cron job and omxplayer (my previous setup).

I was hoping to make use of the kodi remote to manage everything and also Airplay (which coincidentally didn’t work for me either).

Thanks for your attentive support, good luck. I’ll revisit the project next time my SD card dies and I have to set up the pi again!

Why not try to fix this? It’s most likely your filestructure/file naming convention is not proper. Why not answer @fzinken questions so someone can help you?
