Getting frownie face screen frequently

I’ve just been navigating around my Vero 4k, changing settings and exploring while playing music and it has crashed. I’ve found one surefire way to reproduce it, but it’s certainly crashed several other times doing other things:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Interface > Skin > OSMC Skin > Configure skin…
  2. Navigate to Advanced > Color of Overlays
  3. Overlay shows “To use this feature you must download an add-on…”
  4. Press back button on remote. Frownie face screen.

Choosing “No” instead of pressing Back also causes the crash. Crash does not occur if I’m not playing anything in the background.

Does it happen if you don’t use the shadertoy visualisation?

Can you upload a debug log when that occurs?

Cheers

The log I uploaded isn’t the right one?

It’s not a debug log.

Also be careful installing from: deb http://www.deb-multimedia.org jessie main repository. Anything that depends on MESA or X11 is going to cause some issues.

Sam

Sorry about that. Here you go: http://paste.osmc.io/ugipozafih

Haven’t been able to install anything anyway because it doesn’t provide aarch64 builds. I was trying to find visualizations there, but no luck.

Seems to have something to do with having background visualizations enabled (Settings > Interface > Skin > Configure Skin > Background > Show background visualization). The crash does not happen if I disable the setting.

Okay – sounds like a strange bug. I’ll look at this. Thanks for the report.
