The Vero V remote changes some volume (i can see that on the screen), but it doesn’t change the volume of the music that plays through bluetooth. I can only change it from the phone. Why is that ? Is it intentional ?
Yes. It’s not implemented as that BT function is independent of Kodi where the volume control is.
Okay, bluetooth volume is independent, but I’m pretty sure the audio passes through some buffers or some software layer that OSMC controls. So maybe the title is not well phrased, I just want to use the Vero V remote to control the volume of the music coming out, I don’t want to control the bluetooth audio volume specifically if that makes sense.
It passes through ALSA only but the remote volume operates through Kodi to change either the volume Kodi puts out or, if enabled, the AVR volume through CEC. The volume level of ALSA is fixed (at 100%).
It might be easier to adjust the volume on the device that is streaming the audio itself
that’s what i do, i change it on the phone, but there are situations when i feel like changing the volume and OSMC remote is closer than the phone, i think it would provide a better experience
but then again, i just checked my TV interface, apparently it doesn’t allow changing volume either when TV audio out is set as optical SPDIF so I guess I’m going to have to stick to changing volume either in source (bluetooth) or SPDIF receiver (DAC) and not changing it in-between
