try changing the cable too if you haven’t sometimes the cable can be the problem
It is more likely to be low voltage rather than low current.
Make sure the cable between the psu and pi is as short as possible.
Ordered a 35cms 18awg usb cable, lets see if that helps.
But i feel the icon comes up a lot more since it changed from the rainbow square to the bolt. But maybe I’ve noticed it.
That’s because the lightening bolt came in a recent update and each update improves performance and better performance often requires more power.
A decent constant voltage, low ripple supply and a short cable will almost certainly solve the problem.
You can buy a supply guaranteed to work with OSMC from http://store.osmc.tv/
I think I actually found what was causing my power problems!
I had someone make me an inline power switch that sat between the PSU and the Pi so that I could switch it off and on without pulling the plug each time.
Out of curiosity I disconnected it and plugged the PSU straight into the Pi, it’s been like that for 2 weeks now and I’ve not seen the lightning bolt icon since!
I can’t see any obviously bad solder work inside the power switch but removing it has stopped all my problems!
It’s funny how users so often leave out the single most important piece of info when requesting support.
We can’t all be as perfect as you my friend!
Unfortunately, it’s really not about me.
