Kodi suddenly crashes -> wakes up TV from standby

Hi there

I am using OSMC on a RPI3 connected to an LG TV. Since the last upgrade to “OSMC February 2017.02-2” my TV sometimes suddenly turns itself on due to Kodi restarting.

The OS uptime does not show a full reboot, but the system log reveals that kodi crashes, restarts and the HDMI port triggers the TV to start up. When I get up in the morning, the TV is turned on.

Log excerpt of the last crash this morning:

Feb 15 06:13:00 osmc mediacenter[276]: Error in `/usr/lib/kodi/kodi.bin’: corrupted double-linked list: 0x0496dcb8
Feb 15 06:13:00 osmc sudo[12523]: pam_unix(sudo:session): session closed for user osmc
Feb 15 06:13:00 osmc mediacenter[276]: Kodi exited with return code 134 after 4 hours, 40 minutes and 21 seconds
Feb 15 06:13:00 osmc kernel: Console: switching to colour frame buffer device 240x67
Feb 15 06:13:12 osmc mediacenter[276]: Starting Kodi…
Feb 15 06:13:12 osmc sudo[14383]: root : TTY=unknown ; PWD=/ ; USER=osmc ; COMMAND=/usr/lib/kodi/kodi.bin --standalone -fs --lircdev /var/run/lir

any ideas where to search?

thanks!

While it will not be easy to investigate. Start by enabling debug logging and provide a full system log after next crash

It only crashed once since that post, with a different return code, but at that time debug logging was not turned on.

Feb 15 16:14:08 osmc mediacenter[286]: Kodi exited with return code 139 after 7 hours, 37 minutes and 19 seconds

No more crashes since 15. feb. keep fingers crossed

Meanwhile I have installed a fresh copy of osmc, but kodi keeps crashing after a few hours, which wakes up the TV again and again. My TV now runs almost 24 hours a day if there’s nobody around to turn it off each time this happens :frowning:

If the reason for the crash cannot be located, is there at least a way to prevent the TV from waking up through CEC when kodi restarts all the time?

you are not alone.
I have the same problem on a samsung tv.
been trying to get proper logs for ages.
I suspected some addon was the culprint but it doesn’t seem like it since you did a clean install.
