Ah the dangers of bringing up an old thread. I have a very oddball question. I’m using the remote off my Vero 4K and the dongle with custom Aruduino code and a RP2040 board with a USB port to read the keyboard code and send it on to Home Assistant. This lets me use that little remote as a universal remote, since I can control all my AV stuff from HA.
Anyway, short of humping through my HA logs hoping to see that F2 key, can someone tell me what key code the USB dongle reports that as? With that, I could add something to my setup that would generate an alert in Home Assistant when the battery gets low. Right now I just wait until it stops responding and then replace the battery (I always have a couple of those batteries laying around).
P.S. if anyone is really bored, here’s info on my remote setup:
I don’t know anything about HA, but if you plug in a regular HID keyboard and press F2 whatever that registers is the same as what the remote will do.
