Did a manual update (using the GUI) and got an error - please report to osmc forums.
Rebooted and tried again and it worked fine. I don’t know if the logs provide anything useful since I don’t have debug mode on.

Nothing obvious in the logs. Might just have been a connection problem to the servers at that time.
It happened again today when trying to do the september update.
The GUI showed update available
I tried to install it and it failed
Reboot of OSMC fixed it.
My theory - this machine is connected to wireless - if the connection goes down OSMC doesn’t seem to recover fully - you can try to search manually for updates - receive no error, but nothing has been downloaded.
It would be nice if this could be made a bit more robust - I do not have the possibility to use wired network in this room.
The easiest work around is to set My OSMC to download updates automatically before prompting; but this should be the default.
We might be able to make it more robust in the future; but losing connection during the update check is not ideal. Regaining it afterwards however should properly restore the connection

Problem here is that the device is always on, and not used a whole lot - apparently it was online when it tried to get the update (I saw the logo). But I manually searched for updates first (the menu alternative to install downloaded updates was not there) - It seemed to do something (no errors) and the install updates appeared. The update failed and it was then I rebooted the device and did a new manual search and installation from the menu.
The update failing won’t cause any system problems; it just won’t succeed.
If your connection is volatile, then I’d recommend declining any updates when they show up, and then initiating the update manually via My OSMC.
