I’ve just reloaded my system from scratch and now when I try to do a backup using myosmc it fails, it just writes about 600kb (all the old ones were about 400Mb). If I use the backup from the osmc repository it works ok.

Are you trying to backup to a network share?
I can’t see why it fails from the log, but it it does seems to be having issues connecting to your mysql database:

It looks like you need to fix your network config. If you are backing up to a network share, fixing the config; will probably fix the backup as well.

No its backing up to a local disk, but the errors seemed to be related to the music database which I have now removed, but still the same.

Have removed mysql altogether as I don’t think I need it. I only want to read and write files to a common folder from either vero, which I can do with shares. But myosmc backup still not working.
Does backup over write the osmc system? As it seems to have occurred since re formatting the vero. Thinking I could do that again and restore the osmc repository backup which did work. I prefer the myosmc backup as I can restore individual items, so would like to get it working.

No it doesn’t say fail, it goes to 100% but exceedingly quick, like a couple of seconds. Also it is extremely small file, about 400kb instead of 400mb.

My Bad, it was backing up ok, but the “back up apps” wasn’t ticked so it was only the system files that got backed up. Ticked apps and it is a bigger file, about 150mb. Still smaller than the originals but there are not as many apps and rubbish files.
