Network Problems revisited

I was excited to see the wifi get a new update again yesterday, but it was short lived.[/quote]
What makes you think there have been any wifi updates ?

We have a new kernel with new wifi drivers under testing but it has not been released yet. (It’s not far away though)

Because I saw wireless-firmware-osmc this package get updated? on my dist-upgrade? or were my old eyes deceiving me?

Nope, I checked and last update was the 9th and I guess it was changed sometime between the 7th and 9th because I picked it up on the 9th. and my last dist-upgrade was on the 7th.

You’re right, there was an update to the wireless firmware package (I didn’t notice this) however that was done for another reason. The problems people are seeing with wifi are due to the kernel wifi drivers not the wireless firmware. (Not all adaptors even need an external firmware file uploading, many have it built in)

It’s a kernel update that you are waiting for to improve wifi - the package name will look something like rbp1-image-3.18.10-1-osmc or rbp2-image-3.18.10-1-osmc.

Ok, I see this was just a couple Atheros drivers.
