I am new to OSMC and am looking to use this for my front end client, if you will. I have a TVheadend running in the background with an HDHomrun Connect providing US ATSC Live TV. I’ve used OpenELEC to provide the PVR client, now wanting to try OSMC. Any gotchas I need to know about up front? Any specifics to receiving the TVheadend stream into OSMC?

Should work eactly like with openelec.
Activate the thvclient and set it up to talk to your server.
You can get the tvhserver from the appstote if you want to have it on the same system.
Thanks for the quick response. No, I want to have a separate head end so I can stream to multiple boxes. I’ve read some good things about OSMC, just hope I’m not let down. Nice to know it will work the same way.
I have to say so far it has been good. One thing I did notice was my video playback for live TV was way better than when I tried Plex. Of course this is probably due to having the MPEG2 license on my RPi. Plex playback on live TV made me think I had to revamp my antenna or raise it up. The picture was getting pixelated and freezing. Looks like it was a trans-coding issue and now that I have MPEG2 hardware decoding working, that is no longer the case. One thing I did notice was that right after boot up, the menu is a tad slow. If I wait about a minute, it’s very responsive. Other than that, so far so good.
