As per thread title, new Vero V.
All seems to function ok, including CEC starting the TV and Vero remote controlling CEC soundbar volume etc.
Long pressing the Home button from the Home screen does not put the Vero into standby, which should also power off the TV based on what my other Vero 4K devices do.
Cheers,
Robert
Although I spent quite a bit of time on this, including searching for answers, I didn’t post until I was truly frustrated…
Now it seems I found the solution. I disabled CEC, rebooted, enabled CEC, rebooted. It now works as advertised.
Cheers,
Robert
Also, when changing HDMI/CEC configurations (i.e. whats plugged into what, etc) it is good practice to only ‘plug and unplug’ devices with no power applied to any of the CEC devices, i.e. no activity on those HDMI cables. This helps to avoid ghosting of devices. The different CEC implementations out there are not very good at coping with ‘dynamic live’ situations.
A full, power down/reset is required. In my experience this really is the best approach.

Right, and I’ve had to do exactly that in the distant past with the Vero 4k and Vero 4k+ devices I have, while working through the typical CEC glitches. Going as far as to unplug all devices from mains power for a period of time.
In my defense here, though, it appeared CEC was in fact working fine, waking up the TV whenever the Vero powered up and also adjusting volume with no issue. What I hadn’t realized is that the long press of the Home button is a specific CEC Suspend. I had thought it was an OSMC Suspend and that the TV would then also shut off as a result. But no Suspend action was happening at all and that seemed odd because I could deliberately make it suspend by choosing it from the shutdown menu.
Anyway, all good now.
Cheers,
Robert
When you move HDMI devices around, it’s always good to power everything down at the mains for a while.
