No 4k switching

Hello guys

I on a vero4k since 4 months.
Since the last update all 4k movies are playing at 1080p…
Why?
I need To reboot the box and then it works.
Restarting only kodi doesnt work.

Thanks

Hi,

Have you enabled: Adjust Refresh Rate?

Thanks Tom.

I try with and without

Hi,

Could you please provide logs showing the issue, this will help us to work out whats going on.

Thanks Tom.

Just checked this myself, before the update with adjust refresh rate set to off i was playing 2160p 24hz at 2160p 60hz with no issue. But now it displays at 1080p 60hz. With adjust refresh rate on it displays as 2160p 24hz

Vero output resolution set to 1080p 60hz by default

Log with adjust refresh rate off, 2160p 24hz output at 1080p 60hz

And with adjust refresh rate set to always

Output as 2160p 24hz

For auto switching and best results:

Configure the GUI at 1080p60
Enable Adjust Refresh Rate
When you play 4K content, the resolution and Refresh Rate will automatically change to the optimal mode.

@Brozzie that sounds like it is working as expected

I’m intrigued. Why configure the gui at 1080p60? I have mine at 1080p24 with the reasoning that most of my content is 720p24 or 1080p24 so therefore there’s no refresh rate change needed. I still have Adjust Refresh Rate set anyway.

What am I missing doing it like this then?

Thanks

Less fluid animations in menus, but other than that, nothing.

Still not working for me.
I have a Yamaha 2060 amp with a hd plasma on HDMI 1 out and a jvc dila 5500 on hdmi2.
Is that the problem?
Is that the same resolution?
Can kodi downscale the 4k to 1080p?
If yes i didnt know

If your TV doesn’t support 4K; then Vero 4K is refusing to output 4K video because your receiver doesn’t support it. Instead the image will be downscaled to 1080p.

Sam

If I have adjust refresh rate set off, and file is 2160p, why would it output at 1080p? I thought it would be displayed as is. Avr and tv both support 4k.

Because Kodi needs to change the resolution (adjust refresh rate) for it to switch to 2160p.
You should have Adjust Refresh Rate enabled for smooth playback.

Ok thanks Sam.
