Black screen stating HDMI is being shown on Sony Bravia Display
latest august OSMC is installed on raspberry pi Zero W
The booting on SD CARD was fine.
The same exact setup with same RPI AND HDMI cable did work on my friends TV
but not on my sony bravia tv
what could be the reason.
i turned the display on first and then the rpi zero w still no output
Try a different HDMI cable.
Is there a receiver in between?
the exact same hdmi cable and rpi zero , i took it to my friends place… it is working there.
direct connection from rpi zero w to sony bravia INPUT HDMI
the rpi shows green light but the TV screen Says " HDMI"
no osmc blue screen… but it worked on my friends smart TV
Does a different hdmi device have the same behavior when plugging into the same input on your TV?
haven’t tried another hdmi device , will try and update. i have my doubts to if my only HDMI port on the sony tv could be faulty

From the logic: With the test at your friend’s place you changed C and it worked → C is the issue at your home. Any setting different on this TV … or even a hardware defect?
Have you restarted the PI with the TV on? Give it a try if not.
I had to create en edid file for this purpose on mine (TV off, reboot, nothing displayed).
yes i tried that still it didn’t work
yes i had assumed it to a hardware problem to as it did run on other Display.
so i plugged my AMD CPU through HDMI it doesn’t work, it still shows just HDMI .
So I conclude that my HDMI port is faulty and to repair that i would need to get new IC
which would cost me 6k INR which isnt worth it,
i thought of using hdmi male to vga male adapter as my TV has VGA in too but I am not so sure now as i already have spent soo much INR setting up a media centre.
i will try and do some other project with my Rpi zero W
