I’m new to this all (PI/Linux) and I have a PI+ with a Hifiberry DAC+.
It’s working with OpenElec, but I’d like to try OSMC. But I can’t get the hifiberry working. I’ve followed all steps (Configure OSMC for HiFiBerry boards (Alpha 2, end of 2014) | HiFiBerry)
but the aplay -l command replies with “no soundcard found”.
There is also no ALSA device when I go into System/Settings/System/Audio output
Any ideas? Should the hifiberry working with Alpha 4?
Any thoughts or progress on this (either within the OSMC team or by swell)? Given I’m using RC2, maybe replying here isn’t helpful, but I receive the same “no soundcard found” message when using the DAC on an original Raspberry Pi model B.
Edit: appeared to be sorted with a tip from the HiFiBerry forums to add dtoverlay=hifiberry-dacplus (or dtoverlay=hifiberry-dac in my case) to the config.txt under OSMC Settings > Pi config
You can do this from OSMC settings - go into Pi settings -> Hardware support, at the top is Soundcard overlay, one of the options is hifiberry-dac-overlay.
