No sound with OSMC

I installed OSMC on rasberry pi. Everything is working except… the sound
The screen has no HDMI output but dvi port so I put DVI-to-HDMI adaptor which may be the problem I do not know. I tried to plug earphones or speakers on the jack output but no sound either.
Could you explain me what is happening here?
Thanks

That’s probably the issue. The HDMI → DVI splitters don’t work reliably.

So I may not have any solution with this configuration :disappointed:

I’m pretty sure you’d need something powered.

What do you mean with" something powered". Sorry but my english is poor.

Did you change the audio output to analog?

I think he’s trying to route audio through the HDMI end and split it to DVI/Analog.

Sorry, I was starting to post about VGA adapters, for which an unpowered version with audio takeoff is available

@celou are you trying to plug your headphones or speakers into your HDMI-DVI converter or directly into your RPi?

DVI does not carry audio, so I’d guess the solution would be to switch to analog out in the audio settings and use audio directly from the headphonejack on the pi.

Thats how I set up my extra pi, against my computer monitor and a pair of speakers

I did not know I had to change the audio output to analog. I had not think about it. How can I do it?

For the headphones I pluged them directly into the RPI. The converter has no output, it is just a simple adaptor.

You enter the audiosettibgs in kodi and choose analog output.

ok as simple as this. I will check it tonight. Thanks a lot
