I have an occasional CEC issue where my TV mistakenly changes the HDMI port it thinks my OSMC V5 box is connected to.
The set-up is LG (formally Hisense) TV connected through HDMI Port 2 (Arc / e-Arc) to an LG sound bar. The V5 is connected to the sound bar’s single HDMI input port.
Since upgrading my TV, the set-up works better as I no longer have to manually changed the sound bar input to match the audio direction to the video direction.
However, I’ve encountered this occasional TV HDMI allocation error on both TVs. Where normally it would say both the sound bar and OSMC are on HDMI 2, the TV incorrectly states the V5 is on HDMI 1.
Getting it to revert back so it works is a frustrating exercise of switching units off and on until I find it’s magically corrected itself.
I notice in the V5 CEC menu there’s a setting for “Physical address.” Would it prevent this occasional problem if this were set? My research indicates that setting this to 2.1.0.0 may indicate the the V5 is connected to TV HDMI 2 though the sound bar HDMI 1. Is this correct?
I’d prefer to get advice on this before changing the setting and risk cutting off video entirely to the TV.
