Hi,
I was hoping to get an update please.
I ordered a Vero for a family member on 30th March. On 31st March I got an email saying due to “Chip Shortages” my order could not be despatched until latest 31st March (the same day!). I emailed back for clarification on the date quoted, as im guessing it wasn’t intended to send a message saying its delayed and the latest despatch is the same day, but didnt hear anything back. It didn’t despatch on 31st as stated in the email And us still awaiting despatch.
I checked with my family member and as we have not heard anything since the email saying latest despatch was latest 4 days ago, they have gone ahead and sourced something else. I have tried to explain to them that OSMC are a small operation and things can take time. I have now requested a refund via email, but still haven’t had any comms since the email saying chip shortages and despatch was latest Tuesday.
Please could somebody on the team process a refund for me and cancel the order, so I don’t find myself in the position of having to ship back the item.
Many thanks
Dan
I can ship this on Tuesday after the Bank Holiday or refund the order.
If you’ve requested a refund then I will process this shortly
Hi,
Yes please refund. As it was for my family member, and we hadn’t heard back about the correct shipping date, he has bought elsewhere. Many thanks
Not a problem. We had an Easter Bank Holiday here in the UK, so there were no shipments from Thursday and then they will resume on Tuesday.

Refund issued today. Sam has said on support email:
“If you’ve purchased from another retailer such as CPC, do make sure it’s the latest chip revision.”
I asked on support email how to check the SOC revision, but I was a bit confused with the reply which was just the phrase:
“Oh boy”
Opening up to the forum for help, if we should be checking chip revisions on reseller units, are there instructions somewhere to do this this?
Many thanks
Hi Dan
I’m glad you received the refund.
Looks like my response to you may have been trimmed.
Nothing wrong with any chip revisions, just that it’s causing us a nightmare from a warranty perspective. Direct purchases result in automatic warranty registration and normally do for resellers; but CPC are not shipping devices in a necessarily chronological order.
Provided you keep your original receipt you’ll be fine, but warranty isn’t automatically registered on our system if we expect the item to have been shipped and sold by now. Simply forward your MAC address on the bottom of the device) so it can be logged with proof of purchase.
It should be solved from next week’s inventory with CPC.
Sam
Great, thanks for the clarification
Same issue here ordering from the US. Ordered and paid on March 24th expecting it in 3-5 business days per the banner.
Later got an email saying it would ship by March 31st at the latest.
It’s still not here, and the shipper says they didn’t get it till April 8th.
We sent out an email advising of chip shortages a couple of weeks ago. My understanding is that your order has shipped and is out for delivery.
We are now back to delivery within 3-5 working days for all orders.
I think over the years I’ve had two chip shortage emails post placing order.
Personally, and I appreciate everyone is different, if there is low or no stock, I would prefer an e-commerce site to switch to possibly pre-order with an ETA. Or if it’s shear volume of sales causing a delay, a note on the purchase screen advising usual delivery timescales may not be achievable at this time.
The reason I prefer this, is that I have all the info before parting with my money. I can accept there may be a delay and go ahead, or I can wait/look elsewhere etc.
If I part with my money and I later get an email saying there is now a delay, even with the option of a refund a few days later, I’m always left feeling like “was this delay foreseeable and affecting multiple orders”, “if so, why could I not have been informed before placing the order”.
I think a fair amount of us understand that OSMC is not a big retailer with resources to match and we appreciate the staff always do their best to get orders out, whilst also juggling product development and support. If anything could be done to shift the stock/delay info to pre-order stage rather than post-order though, I think it might help in certain situations.

You are always welcome to a refund in full.
I held back on putting up any chip shortage notification because we didn’t anticipate it.
The good news is you’ve got a good price on Vero V. Unfortunately prices will be going up in the near future. We’ve held them as long as possible.
We don’t have pre-order capabilities on the site at this time but when stock is low / out, we mark the item as out of stock entirely. I didn’t expect two months of orders in a week but expect people are buying now for a reason..
Appreciate the reply, as I said, many of us appreciate OSMC aren’t Amazon (probably a bad example given amazon lost my last order
) and we know the intent is always to look after customers. Shame about the price increase, but those are the times we are living in with hardware costs. I’ve been considering replacing my son’s 4K he runs in his bedroom with a vero, so might have to try and get in there before the cost goes up
Dolby Vision support on a device like this is a game changer for a lot of us. My AM6 B+ with Coreelec is working fine, but it doesn’t have support and future updates, I think. Vero V is working out of the box and will have full Dolby Vision support in the near future. That is why I ordered a few days ago. I am not surprised the price will go up. I ordered my Vero V on the 7th of April. The order status says Order Packaged. I don’t mind the delay, but I would apritiate an estimated delivery date or any notification regarding the delay. I am really excited to try this device. What you achived is fantastic. Thank you!
I agree DV FEL is a great addition and implementation matters vs AM6. I also use my Vero as a Roon endpoint which was very easy given Debian and I get lossless output. I’ve had Shield, Zidoo, HTPC (few years ago) over the years, but the 4K+ and now Vero plays everything I throw at it and gets me hi res music too. It’s a fantastic device with a great team behind it.
This shipped a while ago. If you haven’t received tracking details send me a PM and I’ll send them through to you

Thank you for the quick help! Everything seems fine, I can track my order on Royal Mail site.
