OSMC fails to start since last updated (Pi3)

After the last update (kodi v19), OSMC only shows its splashscreen and then dies. There is the following kernel Oops:
Unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at virtual address 00000280

Out of curiosity, I also tested the 2021.08-1 release on a spare RPi4 and there it seemed like a success but after restart, Iā€™m not getting any output on HDMI, and this error:

This is likely an upstream (Raspberry Pi) kernel bug.
