Updated to OSMC/Kodi 17 and, for the most part, updated without much of a problem. The only issue I ran into was that tvheadend HTPS addon (tvh PVR front end) was either disabled or uninstalled after the update. Once I figured that out, everything was back to normal. A couple of the submenus I had set up also disappeared, but I’m working on getting those back. All in all, great job!!!
I had asked this question sometime back and it’s now been partially answered…I had been using Aeon Nox (which I really like) as my UI and when I first got my system up and running I had noticed that in LiveTV Channels or Guide, only the main channel numbers were shown. No subchannels (i.e. 2.1, 4.1, 4.2, etc.). At the time someone mentioned that when Kodi 17 came out, at least 1 of the UIs would provide subchannel display.
I found Estuary, which does a commendable job on this. However, I’d like to find something more akin to Aeon Nox that also displays subchannels. I would also accept if there’s a way to make Estuary behave more like Aeon Nox in having a “banner” style main menu rather than the list style used in Estuary.
Any suggestions or pointers on this are appreciated…
I haven’t used the official repo in a while for this due to issues. I started using the 3.4.16 version and just never needed to update since it just worked.
It’s TVH backend that is 4.0.9. My front end is TVH 3.4.16. So I am using the same version you are.
I tested a number of the other UIs (Confluence, Estuary, etc.) and most display subchannel numbers in the LiveTV Guide or Channels listings/windows. It would seem Aeon Nox 5 is one of the few (maybe the only 1) that does not support subchannels display.
When I look in my tvguide.xml file (where the EPG “stuffs” listing info/data) the subchannels are included.
So, it would seem the issue is with the UI, not TVH. My solution is to look at other UIs that are similar to Aeon Nox (which I really like…tho, Confluence isn’t too bad) and use that until, and if, Aeon Nox is updated to support subchannels.
Yeah, I didn’t see you were using Aeon Nox skin. It doesn’t show digital numbers. You may be able to mod the skin to show them, but I would recommend you try posting here “Aeon Nox 5” and see if the dev will help you out. Seems to me it should be a simple change.
