So I know my way around OSMC and the pi, I have done several installations and so.
Yesterday, I was trying to install a new pi 3 with the latest osmc but I couldnt. Tried the installer and the win32 Disk Imager. I would get the same error at boot (black screen), I ll attach it
I tried it on another PI (working 100%) got the same error and the sd seems to be working just fine. It is the same one I always use (class 10 sandisk 16GB)
I have tried really hard and would cry for some help
Also tried another SD card. Both of them are brand new and I unboxed myself
Try a different card reader
Also, did you wait for all files to be written down before removing the card?
bought a card reader to usb just for that today, still same problem
yeah, Both the osmc installer and win32 say it has done it successfully. It even boots the first time to the osmc installation, fills the bar and writes installation successful, then I get to that boot screen and can’t get past it
You tried another SD Card?
And - which boot screen are you talking about?
Yes I tried 2 cards, SanDisk class 10 16GB.
The bootscreen that I attached in the first post
That is weird.
Does another Linux run on that PI? Like Raspbian or so? (Next logical step)
Didn’t try. But I tried the SD card of an osmc of another room, worked just fine.
Then the same SD card that worked, had it wiped and reinstalled to get the error again … That is why I eliminated the possibility of it being the SD card
In that case I rather think it’s the PI device that is broken…
It is not. I tried SD card from the other pi in the living room worked just fine
I would rather say that the way you write the data onto that card creates a broken installation.
Re-Download the image and install again following the instuctions.
