OSMC Skin - end music track

How can I stop a music track after I’ve started it, without selecting a new track? With the Estuary skin I can select the left side context menu, where I can stop the track. With the OSMC skin I can found no way of performing the same action. I’m sure I’m missing something simple.

Any help appreciated,

Jon

That’s indeed a nice feature of the Eastuary skin. In our skin you’d have to go to the fullscreen music playback window (return to home screen and press “back”). There you’ll have all the OSD controls needed - which is the normal way. With a keyboard or remote you should be able to control playback without any on-screen buttons though (X key on a keyboard e.g.: https://kodi.wiki/view/Keyboard_controls).

In a next update, our skin will get the ability to automatically open the music fullscreen window after a set time during idle. Then the OSD control elements will be accessible more easily.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I’ve looked into the player controls Estuary offers and we’ve decided to add it to our skin. It can be tested via our staging repo.

If you’d like to test, please follow these instructions (after the staging repo mirrors have synced in about an hour):

  1. Login via the command line
  2. Edit the file /etc/apt/sources.list
  3. Add the following line: deb http://apt.osmc.tv stretch-devel main
  4. Run the following commands to update: sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade && reboot
  5. Your system should have have received the update.

I also recommend you edit /etc/apt/sources.list again and remove the line that you added after updating. This will return you to the normal update channel.

Just updated and tried. It works very well. Much quicker way to stop a track.

Thank you.
