Hi Support,
The same has happened to my Vero 2.
The update downloaded and requested a restart to install, the installer ran and then it came up with a samba error and rebooted 30 seconds later.
The vero is now stuck with a sad face on the screen and will not load XBMC.
Anyone have thoughts about how to fix?
Cheers.

You might want to run ‘apt-get -f install’ to correct these.
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
libsmbclient : Depends: samba-libs (= 2:4.2.14+dfsg-0+deb8u2) but 2:4.2.10+dfsg-0+deb8u3 is installed
E: Unmet dependencies. Try using -f.
osmc@osmc:~$
Have you ever held back some of the Samba packages?
A full list of logs would be helpful.
I just updated my Vero 2 from November and I have the Samba server installed. I didn’t have any issues.
Your error looks different to OPs (no segfault)
Update has caused error on my Pi3. Reports software error and loses connection to my hard drive. Have now reverted to backup.
