PIFI DIGI+ Raspberry PI 2 NO SOUND

Hello, few days ago i bought these dac from china

Dac shipped today, and the problems begins …

I try all tutorials from hifiberry sites, i also try HiFiBerry_Installer and nothing change.
i chose output device in openelec settings → ALSA: Default (snd_rpi_hifiberry_digi S/PDIF
everything is ok spdif led is light but i didnt hear any sound :frowning:

osmc@osmc:~$ aplay -l
**** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices ****
card 0: sndrpihifiberry [snd_rpi_hifiberry_digi], device 0: HifiBerry Digi HiFi wm8804-spdif-0
Subdevices: 0/1
Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
osmc@osmc:~$

Any advice ?
sory for my poor english
best regards
Pawel

We don’t provide openelec support here.

SORY, i try openelec but i use OSMC now

Thanks Actiona, i have got disable LIRC GPIO hardware support in Hardware settings :frowning: its dosnt work

Well, it seems that your device must be some sort of imitation hifiberry that may likely not be recognized or perform in the same manner as the original.

Do not enable the HifiBerry overlay unless it’s a HifiBerry.

There may be a different overlay that you can use in OSMC Settings.

What does dmesg give you?

Sam

I have the same device. After using it on openelec for some time (some help over the shell is necessary there), today I installed osmc. It works without any issues using the hifiberry-digi… overlay. Of course then it depends: I have an older receiver so I want the audio to go there over spdif (lacking hdmi). And it does. So what is the problem exactly?

I make a fresh install of OSMC from HiFiBerry_Installer, i only change the audio output to ALSA: Default (snd_rpi_hifiberry_digi S/PDIF And its still silence :frowning:

So did you enable the Hifiberry overlay in PiConfig? Did you reboot after doing this?

But i don’t really know how to repair that ?

Your main issue here seems to be file system corruption. Are you saying that this is a fresh install made today? Are you pulling the power plug instead of shutting the system down cleanly? Is it crashing randomly on you for some reason? These are possible causes of corruption. Also possible that your sdcard has some type of issue. Do you have another linux system that you can use to fsck the ext4 partition of your card?

This is why you are having issues. Are you on Pi 1? There was a regression that broke HifiBerry cards temporarily. Upgrading via My OSMC should fix it.

Otherwise, I suggested cleaning the contacts and reseating the device.

Sam

I use Raspberry PI 2 (quad core).
I make that install of OSMC TODAY ITS FULL FRESH
i use the HiFiBerry_Installer.exe to make sd card

Don’t do this. I have no idea what it is but you should be using OUR installer.

I dont have another linux system on any device, and i dont kill the system with power plug.

Thanks guys, now i try to make fresh install of OSMC from osmc.tv on another SD card

While the HifiBerry installer uses an official preseed mechanism, the image is outdated. To use the new DMA engine and take advantage of on device clock generation (for low jitter), please download from osmc.tv.

You don’t need Linux – just grab the Windows installer.
