I have an Escient Fireball DVDM and Sony 400 disc player. The Fireball acts as a media server to control the player and would will its own metadata, or you can manually enter metadata for every disc. The company was ahead of it’s time and ironically filed bankruptcy the day after i got it and before i installed and loaded up the player so the metadata paths are down. It is IP rs232 and ir controllable. 1 - how can i hack the DVDM and label the content as it is in osmc and have the meta data pulled and populated? I currently have a matrixing unit that can route this content to 1 or 12 zones but would like to use a USB to component connection, connect it to my server running EMBY and OSMC and be able to play 1 of the 400 discs in the same GUI using VLC. First step would be hacking the metadata path for the Fireball. How can i enter the firmware or other areas?
