Im having trouble with my library scans of late. I only have movie and TV library’s so haven’t noticed the problem with music.
When a scan starts it will hang somewhere around 50 to 75%, sometimes even at zero and just sit there until the system is rebooted. It doesn’t effect other functionality but it does leave the update dialog box at the top of the screen when content isn’t playing. Thankfully I can still play content as normal.
Any ideas? I tweeted Sam earlier tonight and he mentioned it could be a corrupt library, does this mean a clearing my library and starting a fresh scan?
To clarify: it could be a corrupt file in your library as well. When Kodi tries to extract thumbnail or video information, you get a crash.

You were right… It turns out if you accidentally paste kindle books into your movie directory it makes a mess of the scanning ability!
Removed the books and all is well again. Thanks for your help Sam
How do you get OSMC to scan your library?
