Rainbow screen after september version

Hi,

I have a rpi 1 model b+ and for some reason I can’t update beyond the september version. When I update via osmc I get a rainbow screen, if I do a fresh install with any version after september, osmc runs the installer then a reboot and then a rainbow screen…however going back to september via the installer works. (Curiously I can’t install the latest openelec either)

Sometimes when I try to update the pi loops and repeatedly displays a message for a fraction of a second something like “Waiting for root device…”. I have tested with 2 different sd-cards that and they both work with the september version but no upgrades.

Any ideas? Thank!

Make sure you’re downloading the correct image.
Check your power supply.

Hey Sam!

I am 100% sure that I have the right image, i tried the rpi2 one and that didn’t work at all. And I tried to update from the september version via osmc several times, so that couldn’t have been the wrong one. And I tried a couple of different power supplys as well. Is it not strange that the september version works without a problem but nothing after it?

Please provide the output of grab-logs -A

Hey,

Being on the september version i turned on debugging and asked OSMC to update. OSMC dowloaded the files and ran the update. After that the following messages flashes repetedly:

“Waiting for root filesystem device /dev/mmcblk0p2
/dev/mmcblk0p2: clean, 27888/225333 files, 237000/901120 blocks”

Unable to access the command line via putty…any ideas?
