Amazing… Now i’m at work… This evening i’ll fix it… Shit

Never done before, i’ve opened it for the first time 40 minutes ago

You can change the password over ssh.

Use passwd.

thanks a lot for the suggestion, but no one has an idea?

EDIT: Bandwith limited to 1MB/s and now averything’s working fine… At the moment…

Still blocks, now I have formatted and partitioned the hard disk, reinstall it now by installing the latest version available and SMB transmission by ssh and not from the store… Let’s see…

@sam_nazarko: I have now watched well over 3h worth of content since the “downgrade” to February_2 release (with official V4K PSU) and have not had a single freeze yet. So the freezes might be linked to a software error after all? I’m tempted to update to March release again and see if they reappear.

Another idea would be that the PSU might have a problem (some sort of short or something like that) which wiggled back into place after my constant un- and replugging…

What do you think?

I’ve reinstalled with march and formatted my hdd, for 2hrs everything works fine, but now crashes… IDK

Then we need logs…

This evening i’ll upload…

Hi

Well that’s at least good, and suggests that the Vero 4K can work properly.
I think it’s unlikely that there is a problem with the device then.

The March update improved the ARM’s performance by about 20% as well as improve GUI performance. It’s possible that this update is exposing problems with your power supply. If you have another 5V, 2A PSU to test to rule this out, it would be helpful. We can of course replace this item under warranty.

Cut the hard disk out of it if you can, and see if the problems are resolved.
A user had a similar problem with Vero 2 last year: turned out to be a faulty hard disk or caddy (I don’t remember which)

Sam

I have installed february release with smb and transmission not from the store, the same hdd plugged in… And everything seem working good… Idk, if i upload the log can you check if there is something different?
With march release and without the hdd it crashes too

I’ll run you through some suggestions shortly

What program is that?

Ah, they’ve improved the interface a lot then!

Try:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install vero364-image-3.14.29-16-osmc

Do the problems come back?

This is the list of the available updates

10hrs without freezing with february…

Please install the new kernel as suggested above.

As an aside, don’t update via Webmin. It doesn’t show new updates introduced by dependencies (i.e. proper kernel version). It’s also not really tested for use with OSMC

I use it only to configure smb and other service, for the updates i use my osmc or ssh… Should i install march before the kernel?

No – the idea is to update it one package at a time

Ok… today i’ll upgrade it

EDIT:
This is the log berfore kernel upgrade
grab-logs -A http://paste.osmc.io/dexosayumi
dmesg | paste-log http://paste.osmc.io/erifukuvun

Just crashed after kernel upgrade

dmesg | paste-log http://paste.osmc.io/inikazakoj

@sam_nazarko This evening i’ll reinstall as new the february release because it can’t freeze every hour, the vero become hot and i can’t unplug power because i’m not at home… Really i can’t burn it
