I spent a long time setting up my Vero 4K with NFS mounts, whitelisted display settings, and a Harmony Elite remote control. I’ve just ordered a Vero V, so I’m wondering if I can simply restore a Kodi Backup to the Vero V, so I can keep my library, settings and add-ons etc. ?
I think I read in the Dolby Vision thread that it is not recommended to use this method and better to start afresh. Which would be the preferred option ?
Anything done within Kodi (i.e. using the GUI) should come across fine. The NFS mounts will depend on whether you did them using Kodi’s NFS or used NFS mounts from the command line. If the latter, those you will need to recreate, and if you use the same path for the mounts, you won’t have to update your library.
I can’t speak to the Dolby Vision question. I had my Vero V before that came out. I did restore my Vero 4k settings to my Vero V and had no issues.
There is an issue if you backup from a Raspberry Pie and restore to a Vero, but from a 4K to a V shouldn’t have any issues.
It’s OK for now as 4K/4K+ and V are on the same Kodi version.
As 4K/4K+ are now end of life it’s not a good idea when we release Kodi v22 and start drifting away.
Cheers

Thanks @sam_nazarko , glad I ordered it now then. Will get onto the Vero V as soon as I receive it
The 4K gave me years of great service (bought mine in 2019) so let me say Thanks for such great service !
Is there a rough ETA for releasing Kodi v22 ?
No, there is no ETA at this time. There is not even a first alpha yet.
