I am using a Seagate Backup Plus 8To (NTFS) connected in usb to the Vero 4K.
I have 5.51To of used space currently and 1.75To free, as it appear in windows properties for that drive when connected to my PC.
When it is connected to the Vero 4K it shows 1.76Tb, which I guess is coherent with the above free space.
Most files (irrelevant of type of video file but they are mainly mkv) are all playing OK but the most recent ones won’t play. Like if I had a limited access on that HDD memory and that above a certain level it would not work.
The data base is properly populated with the newly added movies but action to play will just not work and do nothing.
I have copied the same file on the Seagate Backup Plus and on a usb stick. The file will play fine from the usb stick but not from the Seagate.

It looks like something is wrong with the NTFS file system on the hard disk. I suggest you check and fix the file system first on a Windows system or with a Linux gparted before scanning for hard errors. If something is found and fixed, retry again connected to the Vero.
I have not yet run the chkdsk on the Seagate as the generic long test from SeaTools is not yet finished.
In the meantime I have tested using a WB My Passport 4To brand new from this week, again directly on the usb of the Vero 4K. The same file Paddington 2 does not play again.
I will try the Jellyfish file on the Seagate when the generic long test is finished.
I have tried again the Paddington 2 file after that from the WD My Passport 4To and it still won’t play.
So it looks like a combination of file format and usb source.
The movie files are HEVC HDR 10bit 2160. As mentionned I have got the problem with many files, but only the one recent won’t play and I have got a lot of others with normally same format that have no issue to play from the Seagate.
Where is the source of the Paddington2 file since you could copy it to the WD disk while the Seagate is busy with tests?
What does chkdsk /f tell if run to the WD disk connected to Windows?
I forgot to mention that I have run another tool before doing chkdsk on the WD My Passport. I went in properties of the HDD (click right on the HDD in Explorer), Tools, then Check for errors.
This may have clean errors from the WB disk before I have done the chkdsk in cmd.
I am running the chkdsk directly on the Seagate and will report shortly.
When errors are eventually corrected I will check again trying to play the files on the Vero 4K
