See remote keypress

Hello.

I’m trying to set up my Logitech Harmony 600 to work with OSMC on a Rpi2B.
I’m using a HP Media Center IR Receiver.

OSMC do register some buttons, but mostly they’re not mapped to what I want. Which is why I want to edit my custom keymap in Kodi.

But I have no idea what IDs is registered to each key, and if OSMC even register all keypresses.

Is there an addon or something that I can use to see what ID is used when I press a button?

Which remote profile in MyOSMC did you chose as a starting point?

RC6.

Is there an addon or something that I can use to see what ID is used when I press a button?

I tried using the recommended windows and linux key reporting apps to no avail (i got info from showkey on linux, but the values it returned were not the values OSMC was looking for)

So here’s what I did

  1. I have the keymap editor add-on running
  2. I just went to the first possible entry and tried to re-bind a key - OSMC gives you 5 seconds to hit your new key.
  3. Then the keymap editor screen returns and shows your new key function with the key ID.
  4. So that’s how i got the key value.
  5. Then, i just backed out of the keymap editor until it asked me to “discard changes” and i answered yes
  6. & I lathered, rinsed & repeated till i had the values of the keys i wanted.

Specifically, on a Rii i8 keyboard:
Search icon =61620
“e” icon =61674
home icon =61634
Disc icon =61675
Envelope icon =61630
