hello, I’ve been a vero user since vero 4. and i can definitely attest that vero 5 is a big improvement over its predecessor. most notably when opening and reading files and folders (specially from external hard drives with huge capacities like 5tb or 6tb). i often encounter long processing time (about 2 to 5 minutes with the rotating wheel) when opening video files or even subfolders. there are also quite a few instances that the vero 4 just hangs. this happens across all my vero 4 units ( i have 4 units). THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED WITH THE VERO 5 SO FAR…
. unfortunately, one problem still persist. a carryover from the vero 4 to the vero 5. and that is the “set as default for all media” in the subtitles settings. If your video files have multiple subtitles, in a tv series or anime series, where the subtitles are listed alphabetically in order, and you choose, for example, english subtitles, listed 4th, and then you “set as default for all media” so that you don’t have to repeat the same procedure for every episode, it doesn’t work. Luckily there is a workaround to this. Firstly choose the subtitle that you want, then go to the audio settings, AND THEN set the “set as default for all media”. just sharing. thanks
Kodi doesn’t alphabetize the subs from what I remember ever observing. If they are in alphabetical order I think that is because whoever muxed the file made it that way. What you actually need to do is set your language and subtitle preferences in Kodi’s settings to match what you want to actually happen. Notably you would want to decide if you want your prefered language, default, or original. Once you do that, if the files are tagged correctly, then it should work the way you want across any file.
EDIT: I should have said any new files that you haven’t played before and changed any track selection. Kodi tends to remember that when you replay a file.
