Slow network speed to SMB/NFS. Wget Fails

Hi,

Have you tried a different port on the dlink?

Have you tried on raspbian as fzinken, suggested.

Thanks Tom.

Hang on. When you were getting the poor iperf3 figures between the Pi and CentOS, CentOS was the client. When iCentOS was the server, the figures were fine.

Your Windows test should have been the other way, with CentOS also as the client.

Hi,

@Tom_Doyle
Yes I have tried using different port on the router. The issue is the same regardless of OS used. I tested Raspian, Libreelec, OSMC, Debian minimal, Ubuntu Server.

I dont know why rpi3 is not getting along with centos server.

@dillthedog
the speed is fine both ways I have tested it.
windows (Server) Centos (client). note: wifi card is slow on windows.

thanks.

You have a dumb switch laying around that you could try it without the data going threw the router?

I would say more of what is the problem with the CentOS server. Everything seems to be pointing to that. Have you tried asking about this on the CentOS forums?

It would be best to try what @darwindesign suggested to be sure it’s not the DLINK causing the problem.

OK. Swapped router same issue.

While i was digging I found an chinese old andriod tv box. I have tested it. Same issue so I suspect its centos misconfiguration. I will head to centos forums and will update this post.

Final update. After upgrading the hardware of the server (without formatting Centos) the speeds are back to normal.

after all it was server hardware issue…
