I have a V5. Works great. What I do have is old downloaded videos that are sometimes quiet and then loud when guns, explosions, etc. Then I manually turn it down the volume, then cant hear people talk.
Is there a sound or volume leveling thing? I used to have one that was a mechanical box with RCA inputs, but my TV in my RV does not support RCA so cannot use the box.
Kodi audio leveling balances loud effects and quiet dialogue using in-playback Volume Amplification (for dialogue boost) and Volume (for overall reduction) sliders found in the Audio Settings menu during playback. For persistent issues, adjust Volume Amplification upwards for louder voices and the main Volume slider down for less background noise, then save as default for all media, or use your AVR’s dynamic volume feature.
For Live Playback (Temporary Fix)
Start playing a video in Kodi.
Bring up the OSD (On-Screen Display) by pressing ‘M’ or hitting ‘OK’ on your remote.
Navigate to Audio Settings (speaker icon).
Adjust the sliders:
Volume Amplification: Slide right (positive dB) to boost quiet sounds like dialogue.
Volume: Slide left (negative dB) to lower loud effects/music.
Set as Default: Select “Set as default for all media” to apply these settings.
Key Settings Explained
Volume Amplification: Acts as a compressor, boosting quiet parts (voices) and reducing clipping when it gets too loud.
Volume: A basic gain control; lower it to reduce overall loudness.
Maintain original volume on downmix: Enable this in System Audio Settings if you want less compression when Kodi mixes surround sound to stereo.
